Fifty thousand doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine will be arriving in the Philippines at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday (May 30) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 Bay 114 via Qatar Airways QR928.

The vaccines will be stored at the Pharmaserv Warehouse in Marikina City upon arrival.

The Sputnik V doses will be sent to areas with high cases of COVID-19, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a Laging Handa briefing on Saturday.

“Mga 50,000 doses lang ito. Siguro mga  dalawa hanggang tatlong lugar muna ang mabibigyan ng mga bakunang ito,” she said.

She also said the initial 30,000 Sputnik V doses earlier given to the Philippines have been delivered to selected areas in the National Capital Region and have been administered as first doses.

“Wala tayong naitala na severe or serious [adverse events] at mga namatay rito sa Sputnik V,” she said. -jlo
