59,000 OFWs return to the Philippines

Around 59,000 Filipinos have returned home to the Philippines since the implementation of the repatriation on February due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

31,688 are sea-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) while 27,353 of them are land-based OFWs. The recent OFWs who have been repatriated are from Barbados, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) urges Filipinos abroad to coordinate with the nearest Philippine Embassy or consulate if they wish to return home. – PTV News
