6.1 quake hits Surigao del Sur

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has hit Surigao del Sur on Monday, 6:13am.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the trembler had a depth of 77 kilometers with a tectonic origin that hit 66 kilometers northeast of the town of Bayabas. 8 aftershocks followed until 8am, the strongest of which was 5.3 at 6:21am.

Intensity 1 was felt in Surigao and Gingoog City. – PTV News
