A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Calatagan, Batangas on Thursday morning, June 15, and was felt in nearby provinces and in Metro Manila, Bulacan, and Pampanga.
The 10:19 a.m. quake is tectonic in origin and is 108-kilometer deep.
Damages and aftershocks are expected, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Intensity IV was felt in Manila, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Valenzuela, Malolos in Bulacan, Batangas City; Batangas towns of Ibaan, Lemery, Nasugbu, and Talisay; Dasmariñas, Tagaytay in Cavite; and Tanay in Rizal.
Intensity III was felt in Las Piñas, Makati, Marikina, Parañaque, Pasig, Obando in Bulacan, Laurel in Batangas, Bacoor and Imus, San Pablo and San Pedro in Laguna, and San Mateo in Rizal.
Intensity II was felt in Caloocan, San Juan, Muntinlupa, San Fernando in La Union, Alaminos and Bolinao in Pangasinan, Santa Maria in Bulacan, and Bamban in Tarlac.
San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan felt Intensity I.
No tsunami alert was raised following the quake.
