A total of 69 volcanic earthquakes were recorded in the past 24 hours in Mount Bulusan, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported Tuesday, June 14.
Phivolcs also plotted 56 volcanic tremors which lasted for 19 minutes.
The plume coming from Mount Bulusan rose up to 750 meters tall in voluminous emission before drifting southwest, while the volcano’s edifice remained inflated.
Phivolcs said Alert Level 1 or low-level unrest remains in effect. It also said sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions are possible. – gb
