Safe surroundings form the backbone of a productive and thriving community, which the government continues to work on by leveraging various initiatives anchored on strengthening peace and order nationwide.
These programs continue to resonate nationwide, as evidenced by the results of the Q2 Tugon ng Masa Survey conducted by OCTA Research between July 4-11, 2026 showing that 72% of adult Filipinos feel safe in the neighborhood.
Across major areas, Visayas recorded the highest number of positive feedback with 84%, followed by Balance Luzon (72%), Mindanao (71%), and NCR (58%).
Moreover, 68% of the respondents said that they are not afraid to walk alone at night, while 54% are not worried about burglars breaking into their homes.
These noteworthy figures are reflected across socioeconomic classes, with the highest percentages recorded among respondents from Class D and Class E, respectively.
This broad national response shows that while localized contexts and nuances continue to play a factor in the responses issued by participants, they all converge on the idea that concerned agencies continue to fulfill their duty of giving the citizenry a sense of safety and security.
The non-partisan poll was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults aged 18 and above representing the vast majority of Filipinos, with a ±3% margin of error at the 95% confidence level.
