8 ASG members surrender to authorities

Eight members of the Abu Sayyaf Group have surrendered to authorities.

According to the military, the eight members are part of the group of Mundi Sawadjaan who is identified as the mastermind of the twin bombings in Jolo, Sulu in August.

The members surrendered to the 1101st brigade due to fear of having an encounter with government troops. The military disclosed that Sawadjaan’s men left his group in August.

According to Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brigadier General William Gonzales, they will not stop their operations until they catch Sawadjaan and his men. – Report from Bea Bernardo
