DOH-12, Zuellig cite Kidapawan LGU for effective health programs

COTABATO CITY – The city government of Kidapawan has been recognized for the effective implementation of health programs in its 40 villages this year.

Mayor Joseph Evangelista received the recognition from the Department of Health Region 12 and from Zuellig Family Foundation, an international health development advocate, on Tuesday during awarding ceremonies held in General Santos City.

Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF) is focused on improving health conditions in rural Filipino communities by providing training programs for local government health leaders, including mayors and municipal health officers, to strengthen health leadership and improve governance.

DOH-12 cited the city government for its effective implementation of programs concerning the health and well-being of its constituents.

“This award is for all the people of Kidapawan City for your support and cooperation in our health programs,” Evangelista said after receiving the recognition.

The local government started implementing last year the no-smoking ordinance that prohibits smoking in public places, terminal, public market, malls, and major city streets.

ZFF, which awarded Evangelista the Outstanding Bridging Leader in Public Health Award, recognized him and the city government for the “strict implementation of health programs” that improve the health conditions of residents. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
