ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya — A total of 93 drug surrenderers graduated from a three-month rehabilitation and reformation program in this municipality on Friday.
The Community-Based Rehabilitation and Wellness Program is a joint project of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Aritao municipality.
Aritao Police Chief Senior Insp. Geovanni V. Cejes, in an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA), said 92 men and a woman from 22 barangays here were able to complete the rehabilitation and reformation program.
During the graduation ceremony, they were given a certificate of clearance so that they can be removed from the drug list of the PNP, Cejes said, noting that the former drug dependents are looking forward to a new life.
The moral recovery and spiritual renewal are the focus of the program for their continuous reformation, he said on the sidelines of the ceremony.
It was not known when the program began and how many of the drug surrenderers have completed it.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will also provide the graduates skills training so that they can find jobs and be useful citizens of the community, Cejes added.
Mayor Lucita “Lusing” Tan encouraged the graduates to continue their journey towards a better life. (PNA)
