94% of PAGCOR’s workforce now vaccinated

After over a year into the pandemic, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has been working towards attaining herd immunity in the workplace and in gaming areas by encouraging its employees to get vaccinated.

Following the management’s call for employees to avail of the vaccination roll-out in their respective local government units (LGUs), PAGCOR recorded a workforce immunization rate of 94% as of July 31, 2021. This number translates to 11,473 inoculated employees out of the state-run gaming agency’s 12,176 personnel nationwide.

“I commend the PAGCOR employees who are already fully vaccinated. Apart from protecting your families, you are also giving protection to our company,” PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo said.

She underscored the importance of vaccination in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for employees.

“While we take great measures to strictly implement health and safety protocols in our offices and in the gaming areas, we all need another layer of protection amidst the emerging COVID variants – and that is vaccination,” she said.

“By ensuring that our personnel will not suffer severe COVID, or worse, death – we can confidently do our duties as public servants and contribute to nation-building amidst the pandemic,” the PAGCOR chief added.

Domingo said the high rate of inoculated employees would not be possible if not for the support of LGUs and the agency’s mass vaccination program in partnership with the Manila City Government and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

The mass vaccination program was done in batches at Casino Filipino Manila Bay and in several inoculation sites in Cebu, among others.

Now that a big majority of PAGCOR’s workforce is already vaccinated, the management is eyeing to soon complete the immunization of 100% of its workforce.

Atty. Alberto Regino, chief of staff of the Office of the COO and concurrent acting vice president for the Human Resource and Development Group, said PAGCOR branches and corporate offices are in close coordination with LGUs for the vaccination of the agency’s remaining employees. (PAGCOR) – jlo
