TACURONG CITY – In a matter of 12 days, the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) program initiated by the city government has earned PHP18 million in business tax.

Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla, in a statement released Friday, said the total business tax collection of PHP18,104,851.96 was 45 percent higher compared to same period last year.

Montilla thanked local business owners for “religiously” complying with their obligations by paying business taxes as early as the first working days of 2019.

Records show that a total of 1,764 businesses have obtained or renewed their business permits this year during the BOSS duration on January 3-18.

Tacurong City Administrator Robert Ayco noted that “unlike the previous years, we did not extend this year’s BOSS project but still, business owners had their permits processed on the first week.”

“It goes to show that if the processing system is consistent, reliable and fast, clients are more likely to cooperate,” Ayco said.

BOSS is a two-step business permit processing scheme adopted by the local government unit (LGU) to provide fast and hassle-free transaction to business license registration and renewal.

Under the BOSS set-up, all government offices necessary for securing a business license set up booths at one venue. With complete documents and other requirements, a business owner can renew or register his or her business in just five minutes.

A bookkeeper, Delia Duran, who processes business permits in the city said, “Tacurong is the best in terms of systematic and good, quick service.”
