MANILA — The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the ad interim appointment of Rolando Joselito Bautista as secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Masbate Rep. Scott Davies Lanete, chairman of the CA committee on labor, employment and social welfare, recommended the approval of Bautista’s appointment at the plenary. There was no opposition to his appointment.

Bautista was officially appointed as DSWD head in October last year.

He was a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandiwa” Class of 1985 and former commander of the Presidential Security Group.

He was also ground commander at the height of the Marawi conflict.
