MANILA — The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is allocating PHP12 million for the acquisition of main rotor dampers for two of its AgustaWestland AW-109 attack helicopters.

Pre-bid conference is slated to be held at the PAF Procurement Center Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City at 11 a.m. on February 18, while bid opening is scheduled at the same venue at 9:15 a.m. on March 5.

The parts are for AW-109 attack helicopters with tail numbers 821 and 822.

Prospective bidders should have an experience in a similar project within the past five years.

“The Philippine Air Force reserves the right to reject any bids, declare a failure of bidding, or not award the contract at any time prior to contract award in accordance with Section 41 of RA (Republic Act) 9184 and its IRR (Implementing Rules and Regulations), without incurring any liability to the affected bidder or bidders,” PAF Bids and Awards chair, Brig. Gen. Ferynl Buca said in the bid bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System website.

The first two PAF attack AW-109s were commissioned on Aug. 17, 2015 while the remaining six were formally accepted for PAF service on Dec. 5, 2015.

The Philippines signed an eight-unit attack AW-109E order with AgustaWestland in 2013 for PHP3.44 billion.
