‘Wutip’ to enter PAR Thursday

MANILA — Severe Tropical Storm Wutip (international name) has slightly weakened as it approached the country and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Thursday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that as of 3 a.m., “Wutip” was found 1,750 km. east of central Luzon with maximum winds of 110 km. per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 135 kph, and moving west at 15 kph.

PAGASA said “Wutip”, which will be named “Betty” once it enters PAR, poses no direct threat to any part of the country.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon continues to affect the Cagayan Valley, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga regions, the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Temperature in Metro Manila will range from 22 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City, 20-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 12-23 degrees Celsius; Angeles City, 22-32 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu, 22-30 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao, 23-33 degrees Celsius.
