Army troopers, 500 others join Sultan Kudarat fun run

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Troopers from the Army’s 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion (MIB) and 500 other participants joined the fun run and Zumba dance workout exercise on Saturday in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The activity, organized by Isulan Fire Station with the theme “Takbo at Sayaw Laban sa Sunog”, gathered runners and other fitness buffs coming from the Isulan municipal police force, municipal employees, youth, and the local business sector.

The fun run targets to enhance awareness on fire prevention and promotes friendship, understanding, advances mutual relations between people, and fosters harmony between and within people of South Central Mindanao.

“Run for peace campaign has likely brought people together from different backgrounds. With this activity, we achieved the positive relationships and self-confidence,” said Lt. Col. Alvin Iyog, commander of the 2nd MIB.

Maj. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, said the fun run and other forms of physical exercises are advocacies they are much willing to support anytime as part of their overall effort to reach out and mingle with the people.
