MANILA — Partly cloudy skies will prevail over most parts of the archipelago, while some areas may experience isolated rain showers due to the easterlies affecting the country, the weather bureau said on Saturday.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are likely in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Luzon’s Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Bicol regions, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weather forecast.

Luzon’s remaining areas, including Metro Manila, may experience partly cloudy skies only, PAGASA noted.

“There’s a chance for some severe thunderstorms during the period,” PAGASA forecaster, Lanie Bitagun, said.
Bitagun warned that flash floods are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow over the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (with reports from Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
