MANILA — The Philippine Navy (PN), through its Bids and Awards Committee, has allocated the sum of PHP55.4 million for the acquisition of a replacement engine needed by one of its AgustaWestland (now Leonardo) AW-109E helicopters.

The engine, which is designated the PW206C, is intended for AW-109E helicopter with tail number NH-432, the bid bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System website said Tuesday.

Winning bidders are required to deliver the engine within 120 days.

“All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the form as prescribed in the bidding for the project. Late bids shall not be accepted,” PN Bids and Awards Committee Secretariat head Lt. Raymond A. Roldan said in the bulletin.

The PN has five AW-109Es in its inventory, two of which are the attack versions. The PN’s AW-109 helicopter deal is worth PHP1.33 billion.

More than 550 AW-109 “Power” and AW-109 light utility helicopters have been ordered for commercial and military applications by customers in almost 50 countries.
