SCTEX to implement toll hike starting June 14

MANILA — Toll rates along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will increase by PHP 0.51 per kilometer starting Friday, June 14 following approval by the Toll Regulatory Board.

In a statement on Saturday, SCTEX operator NLEX Corporation said the following toll rates will be effective at 12:01 a.m. of the said date:

From Mabalacat City (Mabiga Interchange), Pampanga to Tarlac:

– Class 1 vehicles (ordinary cars) will pay an additional PHP20.

– Class 2 vehicles (buses and light commercial trucks) will pay an additional PHP40.

– Class 3 vehicles (large trucks/trailers) will pay an additional PHP60.

Meanwhile, motorists traveling between Mabalacat and Tipo in Subic will be charged an additional PHP32, PHP66, and PHP98 for Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles, respectively.

The petition for toll adjustments was filed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in 2011 according to the NLEX Corporation.
