ASUSANO of PH WINS 3rd GOLD MEDAL

THE Philippine’s CENDY ASUSANO collected her third gold medal in the on-going 9th ASEAN PARA Games being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 27-year old Asusano topped the women’s F54 shot put event with a throw of 5.5 meters which she achieved in the fourth of her six attempts.

The pride of Bicolandia was simply too good for the rest of the field –  she submitted the four best throws and six of the top seven.

The silver medal was collected by Thi Ngoc Thuy of Vietnam whose best effort was almost half a meter shorter than the golden throw of Asusano.

Another Pinoy F54 athlete, Marites Burce, went home with the bronze.

Asusano, a first time competitor in the ASEAN PARA Games, had earlier won the gold medals in the F54 discuss throw and the F54 javelin throw events. | Angel Atienza- PTV Sports
