Classes in Central Luzon remain suspended due to ‘habagat’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Classes in some areas of Central Luzon remained suspended on Tuesday due to continuous rains brought about by the southwest monsoon (habagat).

Bataan Governor Albert Garcia declared the suspension of classes in all levels for both public and private schools as he advised the residents to stay safe and take all the necessary precautions.

Pampanga Governor Dennis G. Pineda, on the other hand, declared the suspension of classes in both public and private schools from pre-elementary up to senior high school levels province-wide.

Other local government units (LGUs) in Pampanga, meanwhile, declared the suspension of classes up to college levels, both in public and private schools.

These are the towns of Apalit, Lubao, Floridablanca, Masantol, and Sto. Tomas.

In the highly-urbanized city of Angeles, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. declared the suspension of classes from pre-elementary to senior high school level in both public and private schools.

Localized suspension of classes was likewise declared in Bulacan and Zambales.

The LGUs in Bulacan that declared the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, were the towns of Hagonoy, Calumpit, Paombong, Bulakan, and San Ildefonso.

The municipality of Baliwag, on the other hand, declared the suspension of classes in elementary level, both in public and private schools.

In Zambales, the municipality of Subic declared the suspension of classes in all levels both in public and private schools.

Based on the latest regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the provinces of Zambales and Bataan will continue to experience monsoon rains.

The provinces of Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Bulacan, on the other hand, will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
