LPA to bring cloudy skies, isolated showers over PH on Sunday

MANILA — Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will continue to prevail particularly in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas due to low pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 1,345 km east of Visayas.

“Based on the data we’ve gathered, the LPA will enter the PAR Sunday night or Monday dusk. We’re not seeing a landfall yet, since it (LPA) is still away, the scenario may still change,” DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Gener Quitlong said.

Quitlong added the track of the LPA will affect Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Northern and Central Luzon will continue to experience good and weather with possible thunderstorms in late afternoon.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate and at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Light to strong winds will blow all over the country while coastal waters along all areas will be slight to moderate.

The minimum temperature for the day is 24.0°C while the maximum temperature is at 36°C, PAGASA said.
