CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 890 lotto and gaming outlets have been shut down by the Police Regional Office 3 in Central Luzon in adherence to President Rodrigo Duterte’s order on the crackdown of state-accredited gambling.

In a report released on Monday, Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, PRO-3 director, said 633 lotto outlets, 190 small-town lottery kiosks, four Peryahan ng Bayan outlets, and 63 Keno shops region-wide were shut down by police authorities on Sunday.

“We have already achieved a 100-percent closure of all PCSO gaming outlets and establishments covered by the closure order of President Duterte here in Region 3,” Coronel said.

He expressed appreciation to the cooperation of the franchise holders as well as the public during the implementation of the President’s directive.

Meanwhile, he called on the public to continuously report any suspected illegal gambling activities in their respective communities.

President Rodrigo Duterte ordered on Friday night the immediate stoppage of all gaming schemes operated, licensed, and franchised by the PCSO due to reports of massive corruption in the agency.

He also ordered the removal of gaming and gambling materials of the PCSO schemes in public areas.

The Chief Executive’s order includes PCSO’s Lotto, Small Town Lottery, and Peryahan ng Bayan.
