PNP expresses concern over the release of heinous crimes convicts

The Philippine National Police (PNP) cautioned authorites to be careful in selecting Persons Deprived of Liberty for release under the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) Law especially those convicted of heinous crimes. While there is no exising protocol on the consulation with the PNP by the Bureau of Corrections on the release of prisoners, Chief Police General Oscar Abayalde is open to the possibility of the PNP’s involvement in the process.
