This came after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in a public market in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat at 7am today, September 7.

Said explosion resulted in the wounding of 7 individuals who were rushed to the nearest hospital for immediate medical attention.

The 2nd Mechanized Infantry (Makasag) Battalion, led by Lieutenant Colonel Omar Orozco, immediately deployed troops to secure and cordon off the area.

“I enjoin everyone to offer their prayers for the speedy recovery of the victims and for the enlightenment of the perpetrators who aim to undermine the stability of Sultan Kudarat,” Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, WestMinCom commander said.

“Let us be more vigilant and immediately report any suspicious person or things in your vicinity to avoid such occurence,” added Lt. Gen. Sobejana.

Thorough investigation of the incident is still being conducted by the joint elements of the military and police.
