DA confirms ASF caused deaths in some hogs

The Department of Agriculture (DA) confirmed that it was the African Swine Fever (ASF) virus that killed more than seven thousand pigs in Guiguinto, Bulacan and 6 towns in Rizal Province a month ago. This was confirmed when 14 out of the 20 blood samples of infected pigs examined in the United Kingdom turned out positive with ASF. The DA assured that the situation is under control and as a gesture of confidence, Agriculture Secretary William Dar and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ate pork dishes in a boodle fight.
