Philippine national tennis team looks for redemption after 2017 SEA Games gold-less campaign

After missing on a gold medal in the last Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) is optimistic about the country’s gold medal chances in this year’s biennial games. The national squad brought home two silver and bronze medals from the previous SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and won its last gold medal in 2015, courtesy of Treat Huey and Denise Dy’s first place finish in the mixed doubles event.
