Pres. Duterte has appointed Lieutenant General Noel Clement, the former central command chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), as the new AFP chief of staff. He replaces current Chief of Staff Benjamin Madrigal Jr. who shall be retiring next week. The Chief Executive laid the communist insurgency as one of Clement’s priorities.
