Illegal drugs seized in DHL parcel

Anti-narcotics operatives of the PDEA RO-NCR NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) discovered on Tuesday afternoon (September 24, 2019) a parcel containing heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu at DHL Cargo Warehouse, NAIA Complex, Andrews Avenue, Pasay City.

“Said parcel was discovered in the outbound dispatching area of the DHL Cargo Warehouse, upon conduct of a regular Parcel Profiling and K-9 Sweeping Operation of our operatives” according to Director III Joel B Plaza, Regional Director of PDEA RO-NCR.

The parcel containing illegal drugs was consigned to be shipped to Schwartz Racquel of Giva’t Beit Hakerem 1 Apt. No. 3 96268, Jerusalem, 9626000 Israel by a certain Ryan Balobo of Cansaga, Consolacion, Cebu City. Said parcel was declared as “Documents”.

Recovered from the parcel were four (4) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, weighing 36.1 grams worth Php 245,480.00.

Director Plaza further attributed the increase in the interception of drug-laden parcels to the enhanced capability of PDEA Agents to detect them.

“PDEA agents assigned in airports and seaports have undergone extensive X-ray cargo screening training to put a stop to drug smuggling using vulnerable airports and seaports” Plaza said.

A case for violation of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed against the perpetrator in court.
