Water rates up this October

An increase in water charges will be felt by consumers in the last quarter of 2019. The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System has approved the water concessionaires’ request for the rates raise made last July due to foreign currency differential adjustment. The value of the Philippine peso has dwindled and water concessionaires have to keep up with loan payments in foreign currency. Manila Water customers will be charged with additional PhP 0.69 per cubic meters or or Php 0.93 per 10 cubic meters. Maynilad will be getting 0.9 per 10 cubic meters.
