House Panel OK’s free transport of relief goods

The House Committee on Disaster Management chaired by Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez (4th District, Leyte) amended and approved this week House Bill No. 2389, or the proposed “Relief Goods Free Transportation Act”, authored by Rep. Florida “Rida” Robes (Lone District, San Jose Del Monte City).

The bill provides for free freight services in the transportation of relief goods to calamity-stricken areas.

The committee secretariat was directed to prepare the corresponding Committee Report for approval in the next hearing of the panel.
