The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a walk through investigation in Star City after a fire damaged a large part of the amusement park on midnight of October 2. According to the initial investigation of the BFP, the fire was a case of arson after finding gasoline in the area. The agency found it suspicious as the rides in Star City are electrically powered and not fueled by gasoline. Elizalde Group of Companies Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Compliance Atty. Rudolph Jularval explained that some of their rides use gasoline and the company has no reason to set Star City on fire especially during the Yuletide season where more people go to amusement parks. The company expressed openness to the results of the investigation from the arson laboratory and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and readiness to show its financial documents.
