The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has released its partial report after a series of hearings on the 13 ninja cops allegedly involved in a highly questionable anti-illegal drugs operation in Mexico. Pampanga in 2013.
Former Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, who was then the regional director at that time, may face several charges including malfeasance after allegedly violating Section 27 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act for reportedly protecting the erring policemen.
Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairperson Sen. Richard Gordon added that Albayalde may also be liable for allegedly violating Article 208 of the Revised Penal Code after calling up authorities handling the case of the ninja cops.
He may also be guilty of Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act or RA 3019.
The 13 scalawag cops under Major Rodney Baloyo may get life sentences.
The partial report has been recommended to the Department of Justice. The hunt is still on for witnesses in the drug trade especially John Son Lee, Ding Wen Kun and SPO1 Ronald Santos whose accounts may offer a complete picture of the incident.
