Robredo leads by 15,000 votes in PET recount

In a 57-page resolution issued by the Supreme Court sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), the result of the recount it conducted in 3 provinces showed that Vice Pres. Leni Robredo leads over former Senator Bongbong Marcos.

The recount showed that Robredo led by 15,000 votes from 5,415 clustered precincts of the provinces which Marcos chose including Negros Oriental, Iloilo and Camarines Sur.

The incumbent vice president’s camp hailed this as a clear basis for dismissing the case and that the ex-senator should accept defeat.

However, Marcos’ side believes it is far from over, pinning on the very decisive 11-2 vote by the PET ordering the electoral protest to proceed.

Both parties were ordered to file their comment and memoranda.
