More than 600 aftershocks detected in Mindanao

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) detected more than 600 aftershocks in several parts of Mindanao after the 6.3 magnitude earthquake in North Cotabato on October 16. Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum monitored the last of the aftershocks in several areas in Cotabato on October 19, one of which was in Tulunan. The Phivolcs has advised affected residents to stay cautious, especially those living in landslide-prone areas and reminded earthquake-affected residents to wait for the advice of authorities before returning to their homes. According to the latest data of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), six people have been killed during the earthquake while 60 others were wounded.
