SSS benefits can be received directly from banks

The benefits from the Social Security System (SSS) can be directly received through accredited banks and are no longer issued through checks. SSS President and CEO Aurora Ignacio said that these include lump-sum disability, death and retirement benefits, and employees’ compensation (EC) disability benefit. This facilitates the process and ensures that the benefits go to the right recipients. There are currently 67 paying banks accredited by the SSS.
