First segment of CALAX project to open next week

At the end of this month, October, 2019, motorists can traverse the Laguna segment of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) via Mamplasan Exit, which will cut short to 10 minutes the 45-minute travel time from Laguna to Tagaytay through the usual route Sta. Rosa Exit. The opening of the road is in time for the influx of travelers on the upcoming All Saints Day celebration. Over 10,000 vehicles are expected to utilize the road daily. The Department of Public Works and Highways estimated the toll fee on the expressway at PHP4 to PHP5 per kilometer. Pending the approval of the rate by the Toll Regulatory Board, however, the use of the CALAX will be free of charge. The Cavite segment of the CALAX is expected to be completed in 2022. This will be connecting the South Luzon Expressway to Cavite Expressway.
