Senate ratified PHP863.138 million CHR budget

After a heated deliberation, the Senate of the Philippine has finally approved the PHP863.138 million monetary allocation of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR). During the hearing, solons scrutinized the activities to which the funds of the government arm go. Further, the CHR explained why it needs to note on the state’s campaign against illegal drugs. Moreover, Senator Christopher Go inquired on the sudden rise of the human rights office compared to its conduct in the past few years. The CHR elucidated that the same was caused by the intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs, where there may be infringement of the Philippine constitution.
