President Rodrigo Duterte orders Department of Agriculture lead William Dar to cease the rice importation in the Philippines following the fall of the harvest season. The Head of State also taps the Congress of the Philippines to allot funds to purchase local rice produce. He, moreover, pointed out that he cannot scrap the rice tariffication law because it is of necessity in the country.
