President Duterte will wrap up martial law in Mindanao

President Rodrigo Duterte has finally ended the military rule in Mindanao. The Malacañan said that he took into consideration the recommendation of his security and defense advisers following the mitigation of terrorism and crime index in the region. “The people of Mindanao rest assured that any incipient major threat in Mindanao will be nipped in the bud even without martial law. It will expire on December 31st, 2019. His decision is based on the assessment of the security forces, as well as the defense advisers that the terrorist and extremist rebellion have been weakened as a result of the capture or neutralization of their leaders,” explained Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.

On the concluding 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the palace, aside from congratulating the players, said that it respects the decision of the Ombudsman to probe into the controversies that surrounded the international sports event, especially because this is the core duty of the Office of the Ombudsman.

With regard to the alleged kidnapping incident in Makati City, the Malacañan manifested its awareness on the matter and advised the plebs to take measures all the time.

Prior to the completion of the press conference, the Malacañan assured that it will continuously monitor the water issues in the country.
