Lower House defers to executive branch on the insertions into 2020 national budget

The House Appropriations Committee leaves up to the discretion of the executive branch of the government the proposed pork insertions into the 2020 national budget. The statement came after the disclosure of Senator Panfilo Lacson that some districts got higher allocation. The proposed budget is ready to be submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte for his imprimatur.

On a separate news, the proposed increase in government workers’ salary is yet under the consideration of the House of Representatives. Once the pay hike comes into law, it takes effect next year, 2020.
