Malacañang has condemned the killing of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Legal Division Chief Atty. Frederick Anthony Santos on Wednesday.
“We condemn any act of violence, palagi kaming ganiyan, it’s a matter of policy. We condemn all transgressions of law, any violation inflicted against any person, any murder,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.
”It has nothing to do with the campaign against corruption, because we don’t know exactly whether or not this is a personal case – might be a retaliation from some personal wrongdoing that he has committed,” he added.
Panelo said that even if killed in relation to what they have done for the government, it will not “thwart or stop the campaign against corruption”.
Panelo said the President will surely order an investigation on the matter.
The BuCor official was shot dead in Muntinlupa City by two unidentified assailants Wednesday afternoon.
