President Duterte visits Army officer’s wake

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Friday, October 13, attended the wake of a young army officer who died in Marawi City.

Philippine Army 2nd Lt. Harold Mark Salvacion Juan was killed by a sniper of the Maute group while government troops were trying to corner the terrorists in Marawi.

Juan, 28, a member of the Army’s Special Forces, was posthumously awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu, with the rank of Kalasag and was promoted one rank higher to 1st Lieutenant.

His remains lie in state at the Libingan ng mga Bayani Mortuary in Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City.

He is survived by his parents Juanito and Ethel.

The President likewise visited the wake of retired Maj. Gen. Melchor J. Dilodilo, 64, at the Libingan ng mga Bayani Mortuary.

He then flew to Dumaguete City following the wake visit. (PND)
