Bacoor, Gen. Trias among ‘most business-friendly’ finalists

IMUS CITY, Cavite -– The cities of Bacoor and General Trias made it to this year’s list of finalists in the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.’s (PCCI) “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit”.

In a report on Friday, the two cities in Cavite province were cited for their outstanding efforts in promoting trade and investments, employment, transparency, accountability and efficiency in delivering business services to fuel inclusive growth in their localities.

Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla and General Trias City Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer said they led their respective city official delegations during the presentations before the PCCI panel of judges at the PCCI Office in Taguig City last October 9.

Following the presentations, both cities were adjudged finalists and given the “Special Recognition” Plaque signed by PCCI president George T. Barcelon, Samie C. Lim, chair of the 43rd PBC Awards and Jose S. Alejandro, chair of the LGU Award.

As “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Units”, the two cities were recognized as LGUs that exemplify commendable initiatives towards good governance reforms that promote trade and investments, and significantly contribute to local economic development.

The PCCI award demonstrates the chamber’s mission as “the voice of Philippine business recognized by the government and international institutions which is a proactive catalyst of development that promotes and supports the drive for globally competitive Philippine enterprises in partnership with government, local chambers, and other business organizations.” (Gladys Pino/PNA)
