President Duterte accepts apology of ABS-CBN

President Rodrigo R. Duterte (PRRD) has accepted the apology of the media network ABS-CBN.

President Duterte has accepted the apology of ABS-CBN for not airing the President’s political advertisement in the 2016 presidential campaign, and rather airing negative commercials against him.

The President also said that he will not accept the P2.6 million balance owed by the network and has rather advised the network to give it to charity. He made clear his feelings has nothing to do with the network’s franchise issue.

PRRD stated that the renewal of ABS-CBN is up to Congress, and if proven that he has something to do with it would gladl step down from his position.

“Ako, wala akong kinausap. Magtanong kayo. There are about 200 of them and you can ask anybody. And if there is a congressman who would say na ano — well then if it is true I will resign. I never, never, never really called anybody about this. Even before, wala akong kinausap na tao dito,” he said.

If the approved renewal from the Congress arrives on his desk, the President said that he is not sure if he is going to give it his autograph.

“I will cross the bridge when I am there. Maybe I will call the media to help me out. It’s — it would be a difficult decision really. So I will — I will cross the bridge when I’m there,” PRRD said.
