PRRD objects extension of travel ban on SoKor

President Rodrigo R. Duterte (PRRD) has opposed the prolonging of the partial travel ban imposed on South Korea due to COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019).

“No. I cannot do that. No country can do that. If it — if the guy is healthy, why would you…? You cannot do that. There cannot be a total travel ban and you do not allow anybody to enter the… You are going to lockdown the entire Philippines for that. It’s — it ain’t that way. And for those who are healthy, they should come in. And for those who had been identified from other countries, then that is the time that we can raise the objection of his entry,” The President said.

According to him, it is not well to close the whole country to foreigners.

Malacañang has stated the details of the travel restrictions Wednesday.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, the outbound travel from the Philippines going to South Korea is not allowed except for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), students and permanent residents of South Korea. While for the inbound travel, only those who came from the epicenter of COVID-19 in South Korea will not be allowed to enter the Philippines.
