New storm about to enter PH: PAGASA

MANILA – Another tropical storm could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its report 11 a.m. Monday, the state weather agency said the tropical storm (international name “Lan”) would be named “Paolo” once it enters PAR.
“Lan” was last located 1,070 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

It has a maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 kph; heading west northwest at 11 kph.

Moderate to heavy rains is expected within 400 km radius of “Lan.”

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the next update about “Lan” would be issued at 11:00 p.m. (PNA)
