President Rodrigo Duterte is taking strides to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) because the safety of the Filipinos is his main priority.

This, PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar said, as he expressed hopes that the Filipinos abide by the given procedures.

Sec. Andanar added that another concern of the President is maintaining the country’s stable economy despite the crisis the country is facing.

An Inter-agency Task Force on Management for Emerging Infectious Disease meeting will be held on Monday to discuss other procedures against the virus.

The President on March 9 declared a state of public health emergency due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
