Stricter checkpoints on 2nd day of community quarantine

Stricter checkpoints have been implemented on the second day of the community quarantine in Mega Manila.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Deputy Chief for Operations Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar inspected the checkpoints particularly the exit and entry points in Bulacan going to NCR.

At the Malanday, Valenzuela, and Meycauayan, Bulacan boundaries, almost all vehicles were filled to the brim with passengers who Eleazar stopped and told to observe social distancing.

The PNP has admitted that it is a colossal challenge for them to impose social distancing, especially inside public urility vehicles.

Some people were disallowed to enter Metro Manila with no urgency of business. At the Malabon and Obando, Bulacan boundary, two persons supposed to usher their relative working in NCR were ordered to return home.

Eleazar has reminded all police officers to strictly impose their authority on checkpoints.

Meanwhile, the national police made an appeal for the cooperation and understanding of everyone amid the implementation of the community quarantine. – Report from Bea Bernardo
