NPC warns public against online scams amid CoVID-19

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) warns the public on the rising number of cases of cybercrimes amid Corona Virus Disease 2019 (CoVID-19).

According to NPC, there are numerous reports of phishing e-mails received by online users which can be a way to get important information or money from the user.

The agency reminds netizens not to give any personal information to suspicious e-mails and messages about the cure or vaccine against CoVID-19 as well as suspicious groups asking for donations for it is a way to obtain credit card information from the user.
