Malacaῆang has reminded the public anew to practice self-discipline primarily to avoid COVID-19 amid the rise in the number of confirmed cases.
“Unang una, hinihingi natin sa mga kababayan natin na maging conscious. Ang katotohanan niyan, ang labanan dito ay self-discipline, ‘yung disiplina sa sarili natin, ‘yung tayo ay conscious (First, we appeal to our countrymen to be conscious. The truth is, the battle here is self-discipline. We should be conscious),” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.
“[Isipin] natin na tayo ay maaaring may dala ng virus at [makahawa] tayo sa kapwa, at ganun din ‘yung kapwa natin na ako, tayo ay mahawaan. ‘Yun ang pinakaepektibo, madali na mahirap (We should think as if we carry the virus and that we can transmit it to others, and so can they. That’s the most effective, it’s easy yet difficult),” Panelo added.
Panelo also reiterated the need to follow social distancing protocol when going out, maintain cleanliness at home and observe personal hygiene.
“Palagi kayong mag-disinfect sa lahat ng mga like mesa niyo sa bahay, mesa diyan sa kusina, disinfect niyo ng alcohol palagi. Siguraduhin mong huwag mong ipasok ang iyong sapatos sapagkat ‘yung sapatos natin eh lumapat na ‘yan sa mga dinanan nating sahig o kalsada (Always disinfect everything with alcohol, such as your tables at home and in the kitchen. Make sure not to take your shoes inside as they touch the ground and the roads we walk on),” he said.
